For AIRTEL lines Text STOP to 2442 and after 5 Minutes Text OUT to 2442.

 

For GLO Lines Text STOP to 2442 and after 5 Minutes Text CANCEL to 2442.

 

For ETISALAT Lines Text STOP to 2442 and after 5 Minutes Text START to 2442.

The landscape of bulk messaging in Nigeria changed forever on July 1, 2016 when Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) mandated the telecommunications service providers in the country to activate the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) facility which gives subscribers the freedom to choose what messages to receive from the various networks or face sanctions.

 

Since that day, any phone number on the DND list will stop to receive bulk SMS. The introduction of the DND service became imperative due to numerous complaints to NCC from subscribers.

You might wonder ‘but I never subscribed to such service’. Some subscribers were actually placed on DND list by default. To opt out of the service and start receiving bulk SMS, you will need to (1) text STOP to 2442 then (2) text ALLOW to 2442.

Messages sent to phone numbers on DND are still billed by the operators but not delivered.
