Your Sender ID is like your identity. With your Sender ID, your clients can easily identify that the messages are from you. For instance, you might have received messages with Sender IDs such as GTBank, FirstBank, Jumia, Konga, etc.
Why Register Your Sender ID
The regulators have made it compulsory that all messages going out in Nigeria must be whitelisted therefore, to get your messages delivered with your desired Sender ID you need to whitelist your Sender IDs. You can whitelist as many Sender IDs as you need.
Whitelisting on the Promotional Bind (For Non-DND)
The promotional route allows you to send SMS to phone numbers that are not on DND. To whitelist your Sender ID on the promotional route, you must provide the Sender ID, a sample of the messages and proof of identity on the Promotional Sender ID registration page. The registration takes less than 24 hours to get approval. We have a video tutorial on how to submit your Sender ID for the promotional route.
Whitelisting on the Transactional Bind (or Bank Route)
The transactional bind (or the bank route) allows you to send transaction SMS to all the phone numbers regardless of the DND status. If you'd like to use the transaction to deliver SMS phone numbers on DND you would need to apply for the transactional route. There is a video on how to prepare your application letter for the transactional route. We also have another video that explains how to submit your application for the transaction route.
This generally requires that you send an application with your company’s CAC certificate and a sample of the message you would like to send. The approval for this can take between 4 to 12 weeks.
Boost Your Business with SMS Marketing
Submitting and getting approval for your Sender ID opens the door to SMS marketing. You can then start to communicate with your approved Sender ID.
You can use the SMS to welcome new clients, inform them of your pricing, tell them of your current promotions and commit them to a re-sale.
You can still send SMS before your Sender ID is approved. Your messages will be delivered with the default Sender ID “New Message”.
