After you have sent a message you can check your delivery report on the new portal.
On the left menu of the new portal, click on view sent messages.
Sending bulk SMS and getting it delivered to all recipients has become something of a big ask in Nigeria today, thanks in no part to the DND service introduced by the NCC. However, with the New Portal, you can send bulk SMS and still get it delivered to DND phone numbers instantly.
What do I do when I send a bulk SMS and some recipients of the message do not get it? There are some factors that might cause partial delivery of bulk SMS. Once those factors have been identified, the next thing after a message has been sent is to check up the delivery report of the bulk SMS.
On the delivery report segment of your bulk SMS account, you have delivery status code attached to each recipient’s phone number. It is important to understand what each code mean in order to know what action to take if particular recipients do not get the sent message.
Partial delivery of bulk messages occurs when you send messages to many numbers and some recipients gets it while some do not. Probably you’ve experienced partial delivery of bulk SMS at one time or the other during your use of bulk SMS service. There is an explanation for this though and of course there is a solution for that.
For a while now, the provision to check delivery report for your sent bulk SMS has been made available on SmartSMSSolutions. As such you don’t have to wait to be told, you can know if your messages got to the recipients or not firsthand.
Before now though, ability to check delivery report was only possible for GSM numbers. We are pleased to inform you that you can now get delivery report for messages sent to CDMA cell phones.
With the provision on SmartSMSSolutions which allows you to check the delivery report for your sent bulk SMS, many of our registered clients now do this when they send their messages to confirm it has gotten to the recipients.
There are times though when the delivery report for your message(s) shows ‘Delivered’ but you, the sender, might not get the message on your own phone. Here is why that might be the case.
The new feature added to www.smartsmssolutions.com now makes it possible for our clients to view the status of messages sent through our servers. Below is the step-by-step guide of how to retrieve the delivery report.
When SMS are sent, Message Delivery Confirmations (DLR) are returned to the initiating Mobile Unit (Phone) or the SMPP (Short Message Peer to Peer) server like the one being used by www.smartsmssolutions.com. The DLRs are receipts that indicate status of messages you submitted.
The DLR can be thought of as electronic signatures, that the receiving mobile unit (phone) sends back to the sender, informing the sender of the status of the message. This can be compared with your signature on receiving a couriered mail (such as from DHL or FedEx) confirming to the sender the status of the mail.
