When it was introduced in 2013, many persons subscribed to this innovation and for good reasons. For one thing it removes the need of forwarding new phone numbers to friends and relatives when you change your network provider. They could retain your current number while you still change your provider.Despite its advantages though, one of its demerits as mentioned above has to do with ability of such numbers to receive messages
It has been revealed that ported numbers don’t receive application to mobile text messages (i.e. internet text messages). The reason for this has been attributed to the fact that this network providers and the NCC do not have an updated database for these numbers. When you send your messages and the network tries to deliver it but finds no synergy between the network and the number, then the message gets lost.
Ability to get internet text messages delivered on ported numbers is already effective in some countries though and we can only hope that the NCC will soon have an upgraded database that makes it possible also in Nigeria. Before then, log into your account and send bulk SMS to the numerous numbers that do not have this restriction and get them delivered instantly. If you do not have an account yet, register free now and get free SMS units.
