"Please be advised that effective 23:00 HRS on 12/05/2017, MTN NIGERIA will be implementing full blocking of Sender IDs (Source Address/Alphanumeric IDs to identify your SMS) that have not been whitelisted/registered on their platform.
We (MTN Nigeria) will require an authorization letter addressed to MTN Nigeria, duly signed by authorized signatory, duly stamped requesting your complete list of Sender IDs to be registered. A copy of your CAC document (Company Registration) should also be attached."
What does this Mean?
Henceforth, to get your messages delivered to phone numbers on DND, you will need to do the following:
Step 1: Application Letter
Write an application for Sender ID whitelisting, addressed to MTN Nigeria. A sample application letter is available for download. The letter should be signed by one of the official signatories (or Directors) of the firm. It should be duly stamped too.
Step 2: A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation & CAC Form 7 (List of Directors)
Attach a copy of your Certificate of Incorporation and the CAC Registration form, especially the Form 7 with the list of the directors.
Step 3: Forward the above to MTN Nigeria
Send all of the above to the address below:

You can request your contacts to unsubscribe from the Do-Not-Disturb policy. The procedure for each of the network is provided below:
For MTN lines, text ALLOW to 2442.
For AIRTEL lines, text OUT to 2442.
For GLO lines, text CANCEL to 2442.
For ETISALAT lines, text START to 2442.
Note that MTN Nigeria might have added your phone number on the DND list by default, so therefore, to check your status, please text STATUS to 2442.
