If you regularly use bulk SMS, you might have noticed non-delivery of your messages to some phone numbers in recent times. This is due to implementation of the ‘Do Not Disturb’ service that Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) mandated the telecommunication providers to implement. NCC issued a directive to the telecommunications service providers in the country that starting from July 1, 2016, they must activate the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) facility which gives subscribers the freedom to choose what messages to receive from the various networks or face sanctions.

What that means is that when send you SMS to phone numbers on DND list, you will be billed but your messages will not be delivered. That is a great loss! But you can stop that henceforth.

SmartSMSSolutions, the biggest bulk SMS provider in Nigeria, has developed a powerful infrastructure that helps filters out phone numbers on DND and dead phone numbers before you send your messages. This is the first and only one in the country at the moment.

The system is updated daily to add new phone numbers that are detected to be on DND and to remove those ones that are no longer on DND.

Besides the fact the service is free to all active members on SmartSMSSolutions, it is simple and intuitive since it is embedded into the Send SMS page. Note that henceforth, when you send SMS, phone numbers on DND will be automatically removed. You can turn off this setting by UNCHECKING the box “Remove Phone Numbers on DND” at the bottom of the page.
