How NYSC OBS can Communicate Allowance Collection Using Bulk SMS

  11 May 2016

We’ve considered at length the various ways in which bulk SMS can be used to great effect on all the NTSC orientation camps currently opened in all the states of the federation. It has been shown that individuals can use this to advertise their business, make money from it, camp platoon EXCOS can also organize the platoon with it, same way the OBS can use it for various purposes.

The OBS as the primary medium of communication with the large crowd on camps have to be pretty effective in order to ensure important information and updates don’t pass Corp members by. This is the more reason why emphasis has been made on the additional use of bulk SMS for the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) as an aid to effective communication.

At this point in time, Corp members on camp will be looking forward to the collection of their first allowances from the federal government and rightly so. This money will come in handy in transporting to the place of primary assignment (PPA), and running around to get things set up in the new place they are posted to. Little wonder no one wants to miss out on the collection.

Because the time for collection of this money is not usually communicated well beforehand but might come unexpectedly, the OBS has the responsibility of informing the crowd on camp about it as soon as it gets started. In addition to the conventional way of passing out such news by the OBS, bulk SMS can also be used to get the information into the eyes and ears of everyone involved. It’s fast and efficient.

Register a bulk SMS account if you’ve not yet done so. Free SMS units are still up for grabs.
