How NYSC Camps OBS can Communicate Results of Social Night Competitions Using SMS

  09 May 2016

Social night competitions are a regular part of NYSC camp orientation course. These events offer an opportunity for the Corp members to do something different from the parades and lectures which sometimes can be more tiring than exciting. Little wonder everyone loves the night of socials.

Another interesting part of these social competitions is that it gives youth Corp members an avenue to also make their platoon shine brighter. There are lots of things to be won if your platoon comes first in these competitions, and therefore you need to do all you can to do well. We’ve already seen how you can use bulk SMS to arrange rehearsals. See it here.

Once a competition is completed though, and a winner has emerged, it is the responsibility of the camp Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) to communicate the results to all the Corpers on camp. The major way of communicating updates and important information by the OBS is through a public address system. This has its limitations though and the importance of an additional effective communication system has been advocated. Click here to see how bulk SMS can help.

Not all Corp members usually make it to the social night competitions, but all of them deserve to know what the result of these competitions is. With bulk SMS, you can get this into the ears of everybody. Simply register a bulk SMS account if you’ve not yet done so and send this into each Corp member’s cell phone. It’s that easy and simple.

Free SMS units are up for grabs after registration.
