Marketing text messages- When should you send it?

In order for your marketing SMS to be favorably received, and for the success of your overall marketing campaign, what you send to people, the length of this, the value you offer, are not all the only things that are important to consider. It is very necessary to equally understand when it is right to send such messages.

 

The cell phone is a personal property of the owner and they have the exclusive right to determine what they want on it and what they don’t. Even if the recipient of a message is an active subscriber to your SMS marketing campaign, if you decide to keep sending messages at undesirable times, it is very easy to opt-out.

 

It is generally discouraged to send marketing SMS early in the morning. Early mornings are times when your subscribers are actively getting involved in the day’s activities. Messages sent at such times usually do not have great response success. It is especially difficult to get an active response to a marketing message sent early in the morning during weekdays. This is because those are times when people have more duties and assignments to carry out and your marketing SMS might just fade away among other things.

 

Another unsuitable time to send marketing SMS is late in the night. After your SMS subscribers had gone through a rigorous day packed with activities, the last thing they need is to get marketing messages worrying them in the middle of their sleep. If I get a marketing SMS in the middle of the night the first time, gets it the second time, I might not wait for the third before I opt-out. Late night is not a fitting time to send marketing SMS at all.

 

It is generally believed that you are more likely to get the most response to your marketing SMS if they are sent during work hours, especially lunch hours. At such times the recipients are more likely to be relaxed and read your marketing SMS. Remember to keep it short though.

 

While sending regular marketing SMS to your subscribers, it is important to stick to a schedule rather than simple sending on impulse. It won’t also be out of place to do a study or research of your target audience to know at what time of the day they have the most response to a received message and structure your marketing plans with this.

 

When your marketing SMS contains promos and bonus offers maybe during the festive or holiday seasons, it is important to send it weeks in advance. Such messages sent weeks in advance allow your clients to get prepared for the provision. Sending a promo notification a day before the promo or the next day is not the best. It might meet your clients unprepared and if they miss out on it, they may see it as a voluntary attempt by you so everyone doesn’t get to benefit from it.

 

Bulk SMS marketing has the potential of promoting your business efficiently, with the right planning and when done effectively. Knowing when and when not to send the marketing message is one of the essential factors to consider towards the success of your marketing campaign.
